Delicious Shrimp Boil with Shrimp, Sausage, Potatoes and Corn
Enjoy a meal that is fun, easy to make, and can feed a crowd this Labor Day weekend!
Labor Day weekend is here, and with that comes the unofficial last days of summer. While summer is departing soon (the first official day of Fall is in three weeks), there are lots of things to look forward to – back to school, Halloween, Thanksgiving, roasted root veggies . . .
But for now, since it is still warm outside, and it’s a three-day weekend, we’re planning on a good time that involves a shrimp boil.
A festive, simple, and super fun way to feed a crowd, a seafood boil is just that – seafood boiled with seasonings. But it’s a lot tastier than just seafood, water, and seasonings. Onions, new potatoes, cobs of corn, and sausage are usually included, and ingredients are added to the boiling water according to their cook time. Drizzle with melted Old Bay butter, and you’ve got a meal you just want to dig right into!

Shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn are boiled together for a fun, simple meal that is perfect for a weeknight dinner at home or for entertaining a crowd!
Any type of seafood can be used for a seafood boil, depending on what’s available. Shrimp is usually the most budget-friendly, family-friendly, and widely available seafood for us, which is why we like to do a shrimp boil.
Now to get really festive, line your table with newspaper or butcher paper, and pour the strained ingredients right on and enjoy a totally hands-on meal. Oh, and don’t forget your favorite cocktail sauce!
As always, we like to make sure we get our greens in, so check out the full meal plan recipe here; it includes a simple and tasty side salad that goes great with a shrimp boil.
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
