4 No-Oven Thanksgiving Sides
Since traditional Thanksgiving menus require a lot of oven use, it’s always key to make sure that you have at least a few dishes that can be made sans oven.
With Thanksgiving just around the corner, last week we offered up our 5 tips for a more organized holiday. And as promised, today we’ve got 4 no-oven sides that would be perfect on the Thanksgiving table.

On the Menu:
- Coconut Rice & Beans – a simple starchy dish that’s gluten-free and vegetarian friendly
- Fennel Green Bean Salad – way fresher than an old school green bean casserole
- Buttered Corn & Peas with Spinach – decadent but oh-so-simple because we make use of frozen veggies and pre-washed baby spinach
- Mashed Cauliflower – just as good as mashed potatoes and healthier!
The last 3 should be served warm, and if you’ll be transporting any of these dishes, we highly recommend using a slow cooker (we just bought this one, and it’s our new favorite kitchen tool). When you get to your feast, just plug it in and keep it at warm. We promise your host will thank you for not needing him / her to help with any reheating.
If any of these do make your Thanksgiving table, snap a pic and share it with us please! We would be so honored. Tag us @cooksmarts on Facebook or Twitter, and for you Instagrammers, use #cooksmarts, so we can find you.
Next week, we’ll be sharing our creative ways to repurpose all that leftover turkey. You won’t want to miss out on these healthy and delicious ideas!
